Initiatives & Programmes
Transformative programmes building a prosperous Kenya from the ocean up.
Blue Economy Strategy 2030
Kenya's coastline is 600+ km of untapped economic potential. The Blue Economy Strategy 2030 is CS Joho's flagship plan to position Kenya as the leading maritime economy in East Africa — through sustainable fisheries, maritime trade, ocean tourism, and offshore energy.
Mining Sector Reforms
Kenya is mineral-rich but revenue-poor. CS Joho's mining reforms aim to change that — formalising artisanal & small-scale mining (ASM), creating transparent licensing, and ensuring communities where minerals are extracted receive their rightful share.
- Mining (Amendment) Bill 2025 — tabled in Parliament
- ASM formalisation: 100,000 registered miners target
- Community royalty framework — 10% to host communities
- Mining transparency portal — public license tracking
- Youth mining skills training in 8 counties
